Aapke Dwar Ayushman verifies over 8.35 lakhs AB PM-JAY beneficiaries in a single-day

New Delhi: ‘Aapke Dwar Ayushman’ campaign has recorded a new high of 8,35,089 beneficiaries verified in a single day on 14 March, which is an all-time high in a single-day record since launch of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) scheme.

The Aapke Dwar Ayushman initiative has been launched on 1^st Feb 2021, with an aim to verify eligible beneficiaries under the scheme.

Another objective of the initiative is to create large scale awareness among beneficiaries about AB PM-JAY health assurance scheme residing across the country especially in remote areas. Issuance of Ayushman Card will enable beneficiaries avail free healthcare services upto Rs. 5 lakh per family per year. Though, beneficiaries can walk to the empanelled service providers without any card to avail services. Ayushman card gives confidence to eligible beneficiary to claim their right to free health care services under the scheme.

Aapke Dwar Ayushman’ drive is successfully running in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Haryana, J&K among other States. This year, a total of 1.2 crore Ayushman cards have been generated. It is expected that other States will soon join the drive.

Dr. Ram Sewak Sharma, CEO, Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) said: “It is a significant achievement for us that ‘Aapke Dwar Ayushman’ has registered 8,35,089 lakh verified eligible beneficiaries in the last 24 hours (14 March). I feel contented to see Aapke Dwar Ayushman’ awareness campaign is successful and it has become a Jan- Andolan. I am really proud of our team who have given their best into this. I have a firm belief that in order to serve the beneficiaries under the scheme it is very important to identify them and  make them aware of the scheme. Aapke Dwar Ayushman’ initiative is an earnest step in this direction. We have built this momentum and I am sure we are going to achieve great numbers.”

“This year, our target is to register about 5 to 7 crore verified beneficiaries under AB PM-JAY scheme. This will be a true tribute to the vision of Ayushman Bharat” said Dr Sharma.

Everyday Aapke Dwar Ayushman campaign is creating new records of single day verification of Ayushman cards in the States.

As per the available data, smaller States like Chhattisgarh has recorded 4.4 lakhs cards in a day while UP has reported 1.64 lakh beneficiaries in a single day. Madhya Pradesh has generated 1.04 lakh cards, Punjab has recorded 50,000 cards per day.

To make the campaign successful, aggressive IEC activities are being done to verify beneficiaries for AB PM-JAY scheme. Frontline workers, ASHAs, Aroya Mitras and Gram Panchayats have been roped in mobilize beneficiaries at the card generation centre.

The drive is also riding on the dividends of free cards issuance as per the recent MoU signed between NHA and Common Service Centres (CVC) and UTI Infrastructure Technology and Services Limited (UTIITSL) centre.
