BD introduces ‘FACSCelesta flow cytometer’ during Horizons Global Tour 2016

The state of the art research system has been optimized for use with BD Horizon brilliant dyes now available in India


New Delhi: BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company), a leading global medical technology company, introduced the BD FACSCelesta flow cytometer during the BD Horizons Global Tour 2016. Uniquely designed to leverage the broad BD Horizon Brilliant reagent portfolio, this new system offers simultaneous measurement of up to 14 different single cell characteristics.

As per the information released by the BD, its FACSCelesta is an advanced system for driving scientific insights for a wide range of applications. Available now for research segment use, the FACSCelesta is the latest advancement in the award winning BD cell analyzer portfolio.  It offers performance that is typically only seen in higher end systems, enabling consistency of results and seamless transfer of applications between BD platforms with 14 parameters in a three-laser benchtop system.

The BD Horizons Global Tour this year was conducted at three places in India. In Delhi, it was held on April 19 at Le Meridien while in Pune, it was organized on April 20 at National Centre For Cell Science. Besides that Chennai hosted it in its last leg on April 22 at Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.

According to company’s experts, for more significant single cell studies and higher quality data, the FACSCelesta system opens new avenues of investigation and a deeper level of biological study. When combined with the patented technology of BD Horizon Brilliant™ polymer dyes, it enables greater resolution of previously unobserved cell populations and is an ideal solution for researchers wanting more fluorophore choices when using multicolor flow cytometry.

FACSCelesta flow cytometer is available in multiple configurations, delivering the performance required for varied immunology and cell biology applications.
