C-CAMP’s global funding program: 300K USD per startup under CBIH

C-CAMP – BNV Innovation Hub (CBIH) is calling for applications from Indian bio startups for funding support of up to 300,000 USD or approximately 2.1 Cr INR per startup

Bengaluru: C-CAMP has recently joined hands with Beyond Next Ventures (BNV), one of the leading independent accelerators and VCs in Japan dedicated to incubation investment in technology start-ups particularly in the life sciences.

The two organizations, under the umbrella of the C-CAMP – BNV Innovation Hub (CBIH), aim to encourage and promote the best deep science innovations in the field of Life Sciences and Biotechnology in India and Japan. To kick start its activities, CBIH is calling for applications from Indian bio startups for funding support of up to 300,000 USD or approximately 2.1 Cr INR per startup.

CBIH is the one of the foremost tie-ups between Japanese and Indian innovation ecosystems dedicated to the biological sciences. The hub will facilitate Japanese investment of up to 5 million USD. The jointly managed fund will identify exciting early stage Indian startups in the life sciences and biotech domain with technologies  to address global issues. Beyond funding, CBIH will also enable expert mentorship and guidance from C-CAMP on an equity basis.

Activities under C-CAMP – BNV Innovation Hub (CBIH):

  • CBIH Funding Program: Through the CBIH, C-CAMP and BNV will fund and mentor deep science innovations with global impact. CBIH promises investments of up to $5 Million in Indian startups working in the life sciences and biotech domain.

  • Mutual acceptance of innovators and start-ups into each other’s programs: In order to facilitate collaborations between the 2 regions, C-CAMP and BNV will accept start-ups from both regions into their incubation and acceleration programs.

  • Annual CBIH Hackathons: With the objective of increasing work opportunities for Indian skilled talent and technologists and assisting expansion of Japanese startups into India, annual hackathon events will be organized to facilitate these connections.
