New Delhi: Dr Sanjeev Khosla has joined as a full-time Director of CSIR-Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTECH) on 11th of March, 2020. Dr Khosla who has more than two decades of research experience succeeds Dr Anil Koul who resigned last year from IMTECH on personal grounds.

Dr Khosla prior to his appointment as Director, CSIR-IMTECH was working as a scientist at Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD), Hyderabad which is an autonomous organization funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) under Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.

Dr Sanjeev Khosla received his Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. For his Ph.D., he worked on the correlation of chromatin organization with genomic imprinting and sex determination in insects. After completion of his Ph.D., he joined as a research scientist at the Babraham Institute, Cambridge, UK where he was involved in analyzing epigenetic differences between the genetic information inherited from the mother and father in mammals. Later Dr. Khosla moved to the Cancer Research Institute, Cambridge, UK where he continued his work on the correlation of chromatin organization with genomic imprinting in mammals. He has more than 30 publications in reputed Science Citation Index (SCI) journals like Nature Communications, Nucleic Acid Research, Journal of Biological Chemistry and others.

CSIR-IMTECH is a national center for excellence in microbial sciences and was established in 1984.
