While 59 of the formulations witnessed maximum 40 percent reduction, the minimum 5 percent was the reduction rate in case of 233 formulations

New Delhi: The Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers, Mr Mansukh L. Mandaviya, in a written reply to a question on status of capping of prices of essential medicines in Rajya Sabha has informed that till November 2017, the Government has fixed the ceiling prices of 849 medicines, including 2 coronary stents, under Revised Schedule I based on National List of Essential Medicines, 2015 (NLEM 2015).

“The National Pharmaceuticals Pricing Authority (NPPA) fixes the ceiling prices of medicines listed in the of Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013 (DPCO 2013). The ceiling price notifications are available on the website of the NPPA,” Mr Mandaviya added.
