ICT Mumbai to hold 3 day long ‘Biosimilar Workshop 2018’ next week

The Institute of Chemical Technology, Matunga, Mumbai is organizing a biosimilars workshop during 29th November and 1st December to educate the participants on various techniques and know-hows related to making of these fascinating drugs and the biopharma industry


Mumbai: With an aim to educate the concerned stakeholders on various techniques and know-hows related to making of the fascinating drugs and the biopharma industry, the Institute of Chemical Technology is all set to hold its second biosimilar workshop 2018 on 29th November to 1st December in Mumbai.

The event is being organized in collaboration with US Pharmacopeia, Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platform (C-CAMP) and Association of Biotechnology Led Enterprises (ABLE).

The program includes hands on training program and workshop for upstream bioprocessing, higher order structure/analytical ultracentrifugation, binding kinetics and USP course on glycan analysis.

There will also be an entrepreneurship workshop for biopharmaceutical industry (BIRAC Day). Apart from that, there will be a leadership Conclave to discuss skill development, entrepreneurship and infrastructure development for biopharmaceutical industry.

The training program will be attended by speakers and attendees from Leading Biopharmaceutical Industries like Biocon, Syngne, Intas Biopharma, Serum Institue, IPCA Labs, Dr Reddys etc. Leading academic institutes like NCL and IMTECH Chandigarh will also attend this program.

The Entrepreneurship program will be attended by entrepreneurs, incubators, investors and young students. Dr R Ramanan, Mission Director, Atal Innovation Mission will be the keynote speaker. BIRAC officials will also participate in this program.  

The Leadership conclave will be attended by who’s and who’s of Biopharmaceutical industry. Mr Shreehas Tambe, COO, Biocon Bioloigcs, Dr Mahesh Balghat, COO, Shatha Biotechnics, Dr Dhananjay Patankar, Vice President Syngene, Dr Cyrus Karkaria, President, Biotechnology, Lupin, Dr Maharaj Sahib, Director, Wockhardt are few leaders who will attend this program.

The program will also be attended by Mr. Manish Kumar, CEO, National Skill Development Corporation and Ranjit Madan, CEO, LSSSDC.
